Vulica Brasil has been promoting artistic residencies of up to one month since the first festival in 2014.
During each festival in Belarus, young Brazilian talents visited Minsk, spent time there, and shared experiences with the locals. They got to know the flora and fauna of the country during our nature retreats. They experienced an immersion in the 1000 years of history and culture of Belarus. In 2021, we moved to Brazil, where we will continue to promote such residencies.
In April 2021, the iVB launched its first artistic residencies, hosting three artists and one researcher from Belarus: Andrei Busel from the Hutkashmachnaa art collective, Dzmitry Darashenka aka Doctor Oy, Valeria Ziaziulka aka Zuzu, and Iryna Lukashenka from the Artonist project. In addition to creative activities in Brasília, the artists carried out various interventions and installations in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
